Objective: Jim & Jody needed a brand refresh without straying too far from their old style. It was important to still be recognizable as established real estate professionals with a network of contacts. However, they found that their current branding was not reaching their target demographics. They wanted to appeal to urban Calgarians, as well as to the rural surrounding areas.
Results: An upbeat take on traditional country style. Jim & Jody’s country lifestyle photos work in combination with the flat Calgary skyline to create the perfect mix of urban and rural appeal. Since the city of Calgary already has a very strong cowboy culture, combining urban and rural elements made sense. The script typeface adds a human element to the traditional serif, Garamond. The brown colour choice was an element inspired by the original branding, although I did change the shade to a more earthy tone. The brown and beige tones are dependable and wholesome – reminiscent of country values.
