Background
Each year, Rabbit Hill Snow Resort hosts one of three Triple Down Terrain Park Competitions, in collaboration with Snow Valley and Sunridge Ski Resorts. The Triple Down is a community-driven series that celebrates Edmonton’s local terrain parks, bringing together riders from all over the region. More than that, it’s not just about competition, it’s about camaraderie, creativity, and fun.
Objective
Create branding for the 2025 Triple Down event that reflects the lively, youthful energy of the competition. The design needed to emphasize fun over competition while appealing to a broader demographic, especially women and non-binary riders, in a space traditionally dominated by men.
Results
The 2025 Triple Down event branding successfully captured the lively and inclusive spirit of the competition. Thanks to the vibrant colour palette and playful design elements, the event stood out across digital platforms and marketing materials used by all three participating resorts. Additionally, there was a noticeable rise in parent participation, ultimately shaping the event into a more family-friendly experience.
To capture the bold and playful spirit of the event, the logo features a custom type treatment using Citrus Gothic, a font that merges a classic, condensed gothic structure with quirky, irregular details and curled terminals, in turn, adding just the right amount of attitude and approachability.
The colour palette was selected with inclusivity and vibrancy in mind:
A skiing and a snowboarding dinosaur brought a lighthearted vibe to the branding. Throughout the campaign, we featured these characters across digital and print marketing materials to reinforce the event’s fun-first, community-centered message.
